What is an Affinity Network?

Membership in the National Network of Youth Ministries is free. We do ask each member to consider a donation to help further the cause of networking. However, we believe God is honored by our unity and we are committed to serving all youth workers who agree with the Network Covenant, regardless of their ability to give.

Does it cost to be a member of a Local Network?

Some Local Networks also ask their members for donations to defray expenses in their community. These donations are used locally, and do not go to the National Network.

Once I join, am I always a Network member?

As long as you want to remain a member! You are asked to renew your membership annually, and keep your contact information current in your online member record. If you move or change your email or mailing address, please update your record.

If you need help accessing your membership record, we can always help you.

Can you help me get a job in youth ministry?

The Network does not currently provide a job referral service. We suggest you contact your denominational headquarters, a Christian college or seminar, or use any of a number of online (some are free) job referral listings, such as YouthSpecialties.com or the Willow Creek Association.

Do you have to be a youth pastor to join the NNYM?

No. Many of those “doing youth ministry” are volunteers, and our membership also includes teachers, coaches, Sunday school leaders, pastors and others who care about teenagers.

Does the NNYM take donations? If so how are they used?

Yes, and donations are tax-deductible! The NNYM is a 501(c) 3 non-profit ministry, registered with the IRS, and also a member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. You can donate by contacting our office, or online.

Gifts are used to support the Network’s efforts to reach every teenager in every community, and provide resources, relationships and strategies to youth workers. Individuals can also donate to support staff members who raise financial support.

What is the best way to help others join the Network?

Your personal endorsement is powerful! Local Networks often encourage attendees to join. NNYM can provide a “bulk subscription” to our Network Magazine or the annual Youth Ministry Yellow Pages. Some members forward our monthly “Take 5” email to others with an encouragement to join. We can also provide a membership application for you (by mail or online) to copy and pass out.

Check out the Why Become a Member? page of our website.
